One of our favourite downtown snack and lunch spots is @unionempanadas ⣠ð¥ ⣠Itâs located in what used to be a bakery on a quiet, charming street thatâs still close to madness that is Baixa. On warm days the entire front widows come off. ⣠ð⣠Weâve tried basically every empanada here and theyâre all delish, made by hand using local ingredients. Definitely try some of the hot sauces that can come with them too. The ginger lemonade is also great, as are the teeny little sweet pastries you can get for dessert. ⣠ð⣠Fun fact: Iâm told that the artist who worked on the lobby walls of Wes Andersonâs Grand Budapest Hotel is Portuguese and also painted the beautiful ornate ceiling here. Love that colour combo!
